Treatment

Mobile Muscle Therapy offers a range of treatments – from preventative measures and training programmes created to maintain your wellbeing to regular performance enhancing treatments to rehabilitation treatments helping you back from injury.

Each treatment is bespoke and is based on assessments, listening and talking with you.

Initial assessment

An initial assessment will help determine the cause of the pain and the appropriate treatment. During your assessment Steve will listen to you, discuss what pain or discomfort you are experiencing and may ask you to perform simple moments to help determine the root cause of the problem – once assessed Steve will discuss the most suitable treatment for you.

Mobile Muscle Therapy is fully committed to helping our clients back to full fitness.

K-Taping

Kinesiology tape was designed by a Japanese Chiropractor, Dr Kenso Kase.

Kinesiology tape is a therapeutic tape that is applied to provide support and pain relief to muscles, tendons and ligaments. It can be used both in the sporting environment as well as everyday use. Kinesiology tape is also beneficial to help with the reduction of swelling. reducing pain and postural rehabilitation.

Massage

A deep tissue massage can help relieve aches and pains – it has great physical, physiological and psychological effect and benefits.

A deep tissue massage can;

  • Improve circulation and help you recover quicker from injury
  • Be taken as a pre and post event treatment
  • Target specific muscle groups that are causing problems
  • Have a positive impact on performance and lengthen your sporting career

You don’t have to be a top athlete to benefit from a deep tissue massage it can help with overtired muscles from manual work or help relieve tension in muscles brought on from a desk-bound job.

Mobilisation & manipulation

Stiff joints occur due to the lack of joint lubrication fluid (which normally aids and feeds the cartilage in the joint), this results in a localised pain. If left untreated the pain may increase and your body with begin to automatically compensate for the restricted movement – leading to secondary injuries elsewhere.

Mobile Muscle Therapy would utilise mobilisation and manipulation techniques as part of our treatment to restore normal movement to stiff, painful joints. In situations where the joint is extremely stiff Steve would use his hands to apply a controlled force restore movement – Steve has many years experience using this effective, safe technique.

Prehabilitation

To help prevent injuries Mobile Muscle Therapy can provide a “prehabilitation” strategy.

Prehabilitation is the process of preventive injury risk assessment, education and effective training to prevent a problem before it occurs.

The process of prehabilitation starts by;

  • Assessment and analysing a persons posture, flexibilty, biomechanics, muscle and core stability and movement
  • Understanding a persons typical working /daily life, what stresses and strains are put on the body – such as being desk-bound for 5-6 hours a day.

By assessing and understanding a daily routine Mobile Muscle Therapy can better predict injury risk – advice and if necessary a training programme can be tailored made to help prevent future problems

Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy rehabilitation can be used for recovery from injury or disease and also for the management of long-term conditions (e.g. Parkinsons and MS) – treatment is intended to help integrate a person as much as possible back into their lifestyle activities (at home, work or leisure) and increase personal well-being.

Mobile Muscle Therapy will discuss your goals and will assess and determine the most effective treatment for you – it is essential that rehabilitation is started as soon as possible to help speed recovery.
